Pros and Cons of Using Adsense
People that have had a website for awhile and are getting some hits on it but not really making any money, may want to consider using AdSense advertising.
We will look at some of the pro’s and con’s to this type of approach to advertising on the internet. AdSense has definitely hit the Internet like something from another planet and people are very excited about it everywhere. There are negative aspects to Adsense and alternatives to consider.
AdSense is generally a great tool for webmasters. Because you don’t have to be concerned about raising enough money to keep your site making a profit, or worry about keeping them online.
AdSense allows webmasters to forget about those worries and concentrate on creating good content for their sites. In fact, the emphasis is now on creating quality content (often associated with the top-paying words), which will bring you many visitors.
AdSense can also be very well integrated with your website, it’s easily customizable in terms of colors, size and position which means you can experiment with it in any way you like to maximize your income.
People appreciate the way AdSense works to bring in a consistence source of income to your site. By keeping your website full of high quality, creative content and keeping it current; is a great way to begin a profitable business that will last. More and more people are using AdSense now and it is becoming more of a business within it’s self.
With this program you can use the same account to advertise all your different pages without duplicate effort. This means the webmasters do not have to make a lot of unnecessary accounts for each page they advertise on.
But as stated, above, there are some negative aspects to advertising with AdSense and here’s a small list of such cons.
Clearly the largest negative impact the AdSense program can have on you is if Google closes your accounts. Most of the time this happens because of so called “click fraud”, which means somebody would be producing artificial clicks on your page.
The big downfall of this is that it could be anyone doing these artificial clicks, not just the page owner.
It could very well be your competition doing this in order to shut you down, or the competitor of whoever is advertising on your page, looking to drive their marketing costs up.
The money people generally make on Adsense is not very consistent. In fact, they’re not even close to that. You could end up having to pay a great deal of money, if you make a mistake and don’t know what you are doing. It’s that kind of pressure that has a negative impact on you.
The best thing you should do, is to make sure your site in constantly ranking high in the search engines, so that when people are searching the web, they find your site.
If you fail to do that, you won’t have any visitors, and that of course means you won’t have any AdSense revenue.
Another challenge is the fact, that to keep your site active and current you are going to have to invest a lot of time to make sure it’s updated on a regular basis. Now, of course, certain sites are very well geared towards doing this but with some types of content this is rather hard to achieve. Because of this many webmasters will enlist the services of a copywriter to help them with this process.
Webmasters that write their own original material, should study the topic thoroughly, so that when they begin to write the article, they will be able to relay the information in their own words and share their personal opinions and insights.
As you can see there are both pros and cons in using Google AdSense to make a profit with advertising. Each person must decide for themselves if this is something that will work for their internet business or not.
“When using blogs as part of your internet marketing strategy, how the hell do you keep them fed with fresh unique content day after day?”
That’s the question I get asked most of all but the answer is easy. I don’t, Syndicate Kahuna feeds them for me and it doesn’t cost a dime for the content!
